Picnic on the Green- our largest fundraising event of the year!

Mark your calendar for Thursday, July 30th, 2015.  This is the signature fundraising event for The Community Table. Platinum Sponsors Blugold Dining by Sodexo and Pine Meadow Golf Course host an amazing meal in a wonderful summer evening venue.

Wine Tasting

Whites:

Ruffino Prosecco DOC (Italy)
Fruity and fragrant with clean notes of citrus, pears and apples along with slight hints of hawthorn, wisteria and elder. Fine bubbles caress the palate, while intense flavors of apples and peaches give the wine a pleasing finish.

Little Black Dress Moscato (California)

Pale yellow in appearance with a faint
effervescence. An extravagantly fruity nose, with floral aromas of rose petal complemented by notes of lychee and white peach. Light and fresh on the palate, with flavors of peach, apricot and a touch of melon. The sweetness of this wine is balanced by nice acidity, leaving a bright and fruitful finish.

Estancia Unoaked Chardonnay (Monterey County, CA)

Enticing aromas of Asian pear, key lime pie, mango and green apple candy. Uninhibited by oak, the wine dazzles with flavors of pineapple,
orange blossom and citrus, which is enhanced by crisp acidity and a touch of minerality.

Wollersheim Prairie Fume (Prairie du Sac, WI)

A crisp fresh semi-­‐dry white bursting with citrus and tropical fruit aromas reminiscent of orange and grapefruit with a hint of sweetness. The
Winery’s most popular wine, perfect for every occasion and every taste. Prairie Fumé and our winemaker, Philippe, were awarded “Blockbuster Wine of the Year” and “Winemaker of the Year” awards for winning the most medals of any wine east of the Rockies.

Honoro Vera Blanco (Rueda, Spain)

100% Verdejo. Beautiful nose of white blossoms and fresh fruit with hints of papaya. On the palate is a nuance of lemon custard with bright apple notes. It is a focused and balanced wine that is perfect for a spring or summer picnic or light fare.

Reds:

Trivento Malbec (Mendoza, ARG) 

Deep red and violet in color, with powerful aromas of ripe red fruits, strawberries and
cherries, with hints of coffee and chocolate from the oak. Good body and fleshy tannins with a long, lingering finish.

Ruffino Chianti DOCG (Italy)

This medium-­‐bodied, well-­‐balanced wine is approachable and aromatic, with classic Chianti aromas of violet and wonderful cherry fruit flavors. It finishes with spicy hints of wild cherry and hazelnut. It retains these fresh and fruity flavors since it receives no wood aging.

Rancho Sisquoc River Red (Santa Barbara County, CA)

This bold blend of all estate grown red grapes catches your eye with a dark jewel-­‐toned pomegranate color. The minute you pour a glass, hints of buttered popcorn and tea leaves leap out. Velvety flavors of brandied cherries and dried plums lead to a balanced finish that lingers with cranberry and sweet tobacco.

Honoro Vera Monastrell (D.O. Jumilla, Spain)
Aromas of blackberry and marionberry on the nose. A medium bodied, lush wine with good structure and balance. Satisfying finish with strong tannins and proper acidity.

Garnet Pinot Noir (Monterey County, CA) 
The aroma of this wine shows amazing depth as it opens up with blackberry and macerated cherry notes followed by layers of clove, vanilla and perhaps a little duck fat. An earthy smokiness is offset nicely by the richness of fruit on the palate and the juicy mouthfeel. Undertones of toasted oak add to the richness of the long and delicious finish.
