Eau Claire is an amazing community!  A recent Eau Claire Leader Telegram article discussed volunteers in the Chippewa Valley.  While The Community Table wasn’t cited, it certainly should be noticed.  Every day ten to twelve volunteers work at least three hours to feed people who are hungry.  Do the math and that makes a minimum of 13,140 hours volunteered at The Community Table in a year!

Thank you Eau Claire!

The need is great!  In the month of July The Community Table served an average of 119 guests a meal each day.  For many people this is the only meal they eat in a day.  Many of our guests are out of work or are working poor, meaning their pay does not provide a living.  Guests appreciate the food and community provided at The Community Table daily.

Thank you Eau Claire!

Providing meals and paying operational expenses takes money.   Along with providing the labor, serving teams give a $100 contribution.   Many faith communities, civic groups and businesses make generous financial contributions, the most recent example being the RCU Charity Classic.  Board members along with The Barley Club staff worked hard on our wonderful fund raiser, Picnic on the Green.  Generous sponsorships and support from many businesses made the event a huge success.  Individual contributions, sometimes $1, sometimes $100, add up and make a significant 21% of our budget.  People put cash in our donation boxes found throughout the community.  There are all kinds of creative endeavors made on our behalf, like the man who played music at The Farmer’s Market and gave us the tips.  Every penny is necessary and adds up in this incredible community effort.

Thank you Eau Claire!

If you are not yet part of The Community Table I invite you to look through this web site and see if there is a way you can be part of this wonderful organization.  If you have questions please contact me by phone at (715) 835-4977 or e-mail me at Rachel@thecommunitytable.org

Thank you Eau Claire!
